Recognition

1. Clear camera preview is a key to correct recognition. Start an auto focus anytime by touch & hold on the camera preview or clicking the auto focus button on the bottom panel.
2. To switch on/off the recognition, tap the screen or click the toggle button ("idle"/"recognizing") on the bottom panel.
3. A rotating circle will show up upon the start of recognition. Use that to target the word you want Intuitit Wik to recognize, and try to keep the preview stable.
4. Recognized result (candidate) will be enclosed in a balloon, and pop out (leftmost is the latest, the maximum number of balloons is 8) in the horizontal scroll view above the bottom panel. If a candidate had been recognized more than once, it will be marked with a red bar. 
5. Clicking a candidate balloon will stop the recognition and start looking up the candidate from the default reference (you may change that in the settings). Meanwhile, a new bottom panel with reference selector and a reference button will be presented. Clicking the reference button on this panel will start reference activity for the selected candidate (clicking any candidate balloon anytime will select it, and its name will show up on the right side of the title bar). Long press this reference button (touch & hold on it) will start a web search (Google search) for the selected candidate.

Handling

1. Click a candidate's "more" button (a circled downward arrow within each balloon) will start the handling activity for the candidate. In the handling activity, all words in the same row with the recognized one will be denoted by a red bounding box.
2. Select these words just like how you select text on your computer with a mouse. Swiping over the words will select/deselect them. Clicking has the same effect. The edit box in the bottom panel will show recognized result upon your selection.
3. Click the reference button in the handling activity will start reference activity for the text in the edit box. Long press it (touch & hold on it) will start a web search for it.
4. As a matter of fact, the reference button in the handling activity is used to pick reference for sharing. Starting reference activity from handling activity will enable "mark" action. Closing the reference activity will return marked references to the handling activity. These references is enclosed in balloons above the bottom panel. Clicking one will remove it.
5. Open the options menu (press the menu key on your phone) to access share option. "Share" action will send out the marked references and the camera shot (as attachment). "Send to myself" is similar to the "Share" action, except that a dialog will ask your email address in prior. For your convenience, your email address will be cached for auto completion in future.

Hunting Activity

Hunting activity is the starting activity of Intuitit Wik. Targeting a printed word, recognize it, and see result from two Wiki sites instantly on the camera preview. Moreover, the other three activities would be started from here.

Reference Activity

Reference activity presents two different views: Intuitit View, Straight View.

Intuitit View

Intuitit Wik uses MediaWiki API to get the content of according wiki pages and display an abstracted view: intuitit view.

Straight View

Since defections still exist in the Intuitit View, Intuitit Wik provide a choice called "Straight View", showing the original web page.

Handling Activity

In handling activity, users get a chance to recognize more words in the camera shot of a specific candidate.

You may use mark function in reference activity to add reference.

Preferences Activity

1. Contact Developer - Send an email to the developer.
2. About - Show "About" page in reference activity.
3. Straight View - Show original webpage in reference activity.
4. Default Reference - The reference used to look up words from when application start.
5. Language for recognition - Set Tesseract OCR engine to recognize a specific language.
6. Get language libs - Start the browser to view Enhancement page and download a new language pack. Manage the downloaded pack in downloads history.
7. Custom Wiki source - Check if you want select the language code for wiki sites by yourself. Otherwise, the language code will follow the language for recognition.
8. Wiki language code - The custom language code. This setting depends on the check box above.
9. Show hint - Show hint at some points.
   
10. Orientation - Switch the screen orientation of hunting activity when rotating phone.
